On recent Polaris flight LHR-ORD, cabin was full. So, I suspected service would be slow and poor. When drinks cart came around, I asked for a second mini of Sapphire and was told I could only get one at a time (has not happened before), but that FA would be back around. Needless to say, noone came around again and dinner was served and so no opportunity for my "other half"! To make things worse, because they had wine on the cart along with the first drinks service, I was not even offered wine with dinner. Then I had to ask twice for wine before eventually getting a glass after I had finished my dinner. I can't remember what the dinner options were, but mine was barely edible. The food and service on Austrian and Lufthansa, which I also flew on this trip, were much, much better than United's.
Unfortunately, I am a United slave but will choose any other Star Alliance carrier whenever possible in the future.
