Most Marriott hotels that I've been to in the past several years have LG televisions in their rooms set to hospitality mode with a box attached to the back that connects to their tv platform on a secure network that you obviously can't link through guest WiFi and with some sort of generic remote that doesn't allow you to control settings or access any useful features. Every single one of them has that terrible motion smoothing feature set to default. On past stays I've tried everything from unplugging and reconfiguring all the wires in the back (still can't do anything w/o remote control to access advanced picture settings even after adjustments) to punching in random key codes found online to try to reboot the tv to its factory settings (this never works) to downloading universal remote apps on iphone (useless as can't access tv network to link). Ocassionally at fancier hotels I've hassled maintenance to get it fixed, but it never works and I always feel like a big weirdo because nobody seems to be aware of it and wonders what I'm griping about. Just curious if anyone out there knows of a solution?
