OCI sent to regular foreigner (eVisa?) immigration queues in some airports

On my last trip in early November i noticed that the OCI immigration counters are now combined with the evisa ones . Not sure when this changed?

Took me around 1.5 hours to Clear immigration !!!

This was partly due to both immigration officers at our queue disappearing mid way. But even if they hadn't it would have been over an hour .

On my previous visits I've always cleared immigration on the counters on thr left after coming down the escalator .. This was the first time that I ( OCI ) had to use the counters in the separate hall on the right.

It seems all the non Indian passport holders are dumped here .

There also seems to be a fingerprint process now ( noticed this in COK also on my last trip in September ) which never works in one go and takes multiple attempts

This also adds to the time

For the record I disembarked from EK 510 at 0855 and reached the baggage hall by only 1045 :-(
