Yes to both! I have a small, packable duffle that I got at Eddie Bauer, folds up to about the size of a paperback. I have it in case I need to bring home more than the 1 bag I left with and it usually ends up full of dirty laundry. Check it, then everything goes immediately into the 4Ba3owash when I get home. So the duffle goes in the carry on and the tiny Baggu shopping tote goes in my personal item.
And on occasion (especially if the occasion is Duty Free) even the Baggu comes back full.
