I'm currently sitting at 34,605 with 40 from my flight down to London on Sunday to be credited and back tomorrow will earn me another 40. Next week off on holiday to Cape Town in CW so by the time I return I will have exceeded the magical figure of 35,000 to get me GFL. Joined the exec club in 1991 and most of my travel is shorthaul in CE. Would have made GFL sooner as I still travelled with work during the pandemic, but BA operated very few European routes at the height of the restrictions and I had to travel AF/KLM which got me Flying Blue Gold (akin to BA Silver). While it will be nice to have GFL, I'll still probably fly as much on cash tickets with BA as living in Scotland, the connections with BA to Europe are typically more frequent than with AF/KLM. In addition the inflight catering in business on both AF and KLM is pretty poor on their European routes (cold meal only on AF even on flights that last 5 hours, with KLM offering a hot wrap rather than a warm meal) and given this I'll stick with BA.
