That is the approximate economy rate on any airline, but in business, QR is significantly cheaper than AI for the route and dates I checked. It's an upside-down world. The advantage of AI was that it was cheap; if it isn't, why would anyone fly it?

If I cared about cosmetics, I might also suggest that the yellow color scheme be retired. It hurts the eyes, especially because of the dirt on it.

Recently flew AI on DEL-ORD sector in economy. AI still has ways to go with inflight experience. The food was excellent (better than EK or QR even), seats are comfortable, but the IFE is still vintage AI. IFEs in several seats were broken and not working or hard to maneuver and many seats did not recline, I had to ask the FA to reset mine twice before it started working and that too the remote did not work and overhead light was broken. Map feature was disabled. Still overall an average experience. Tatas needs to fix these and this is where the middle east and even Euro carriers have the advantage.
