I purchased an Economy Basic fare (ORD->BOS->BCN, MAD->ORD). I'm an AAdvantage Gold member, so I should get to choose seats. ORD->BOS is on American metal, and I had no trouble getting seat assignments. The BOS->BCN and MAD->ORD segments are on Iberia metal, so AA sends me to Iberia. Iberia won't let me book seats using my Oneworld Ruby status.

Anyone have suggestions about how to get around this?
