A month ago I flew from BKK to CGK and then onto LGW with a change of airline from TG to TK. Thai were happy to tag my suitcase through to Gatwick even though I had two separate tickets.

Today I fly LHR to MAD on BA and then on to SCL on IB on a separate ticket. They would not tag my bags through. The check-in told me that to do so both flights had to be on the same itinerary. So I have to collect and re-check them in Madrid. IB and BA are both IAG so why can’t they do this?
