I'm expecting to start flying Air France quite a bit, probably enough to Platinum, at least Gold. I have an old KLM FlyingBlue card but without any status (I've been primarily Star Alliance until now).

Now, this might be a stupid question, but are there any benefits at all (soft benefits/preferencial treatment, upgrades, AF staff helpfulness, etc) to registering a new AF card for FlyingBlue since it is AF I will be using the most, and get status on that, or does it not matter at all and just keep the KLM card?
