Nope. It is much more complicated than that. Here is a thread on UA forum:

The calculator considers all the complications such as preferred vs other partner, fare class, and maximum limit of earning per segment.
For your situation, it is very difficult to find a mileage run on *A partner with so few days remaining in the calendar. If you want to visit a foreign country around the New Year’s Day, you can book a trip with outbound in the last few days of this year but return in the early January next year. The outbound (>1100 PQP) can be credited for this year. The return trip will give you a head start for 2024 status.
Other than the suggestion above, it is not worth for spending your own money for Premier Gold status (depending upon how many trips you will make on UA, in particular, international trips). Good luck.
