There are signs but it would be very easy to find yourself going through passport control unnecessarily. There is usually a member of HAL staff that supervises arrivals and I have a low expectation that they would direct people the right way in this scenario. The correct and fastest way is to go landside, and that also is a going forwards direction too, but if you turn right you remain airside and thus will need to show a passport. At quiet times it is probably in the wash, one way may take 12 minutes, the other 15 minutes.
