How do flight connections work if you’re connecting to a UK domestic or other CTA such as JER?
As far as I know following the signs to flight connections takes you to the usual flight connections centre in T5 so no passport control if going international but you’d need a passport check (to enter the UK) if flying domestic or CTA.

Is that correct or does the signage say for domestic connections follow the arrivals route and other connections go to the regular connections route?

I’m not looking for the best route, rather what the signs direct you to do.

I’ve just realised that I’ve never arrived from DUB into T5, it has always been EI into T2, CJ into LCY or if we go back far enough BD into T1
