yes, security queues at LHR recently quite long especially mornings and other busy period of time. So if someone has access to the First Wing then I would use that as it’s quicker however if not then probably doesn’t matter much. When an airport build a maze and employ someone landslide with a board saying the queue start here is never a good sign.
Yes, weekday prior to 0700 TFW seems to struggle quite a bit with long queues. My own strategy has now changed so I will head to north fast track instead at that time on weekdays - although I appreciate that is less convenient if you need to go to check in and check a bag.
