Cathay Reliability: Current State

I have an upcoming award trip from LAX-MLE this December flying mostly on Cathay. Given some of the stories from early this year I’m quite worried about whether I can rely on Cathay, and wondering whether I should rebook on another airline. I have some specific questions from previous passengers’ stories earlier this year. If anyone has more recent experiences from the last month or so, I’d appreciate your perspective.
  1. Cancellations: Is HKG government still sporadically shutting down airlines’ flights for a week at a time due to positive covid cases? Generally, how are cancellations overall?
  2. Transit Passengers: Is HKG still requiring all passengers to be on “through” itineraries (i.e., subsequent flight must be on the same itin as inbound flight?) I ask because Cathay canceled my HKG-MLE flight so i need to book HKG-MLE separately, likely on singapore air.)
  3. Covid Testing: Is HKG doing covid testing of transit passengers (i.e., those connecting through HKG without leaving airport)?
  4. Any other logistical risks to be aware of from flying through HKG?
