Given the ballooning costs at many luxe resorts in Mexico, I had been looking for a more reasonable option but feared sacrificing treasured amenities (large suite, heated plunge pool, outdoor deck or terrace, gracious service, etc.). I’d already booked a five-night stay at Viceroy Riviera Maya so your review was especially reassuring. “Black Friday” deal reduced rates on a Royal Villa to around $1K per night including the extortionate service and taxes which is decent savings for me. Now, I just have to wait for April 2023.
