+1 for this ... Also SW Trains from Wokingham/Bracknell to Clapham Junction .. then at CLJ head to Platform 13 for the Gatwick trains .... Looks like ~1 hour Wokingham to Clapham ( few minutes less from Bracknell) and then it's 25 minutes to Gatwick from there.

The cross country option is only hourly .. so you've got a backup option from Wokingham going via Clapham which is more frequent and not really any slower ... Assuming getting to Wokingham/Bracknell is not much more hassle for you than Maidenhead then it will be quicker and cheaper to go via Clapham than Farringdon
