I guess the hotel just plays lip service but not actually does anything to correct the mistake. It is so annoying to have to chase the points that one is entitled. Woukd it helps to contact Marriott on this? After all, this is part of the elite benefits the program promises.
Yes, it would help to raise it directly with Bonvoy customer service by email with your folios as attachments. I was told by a Le Meridien hotel that when a stay fails to post, or post correctly, they can only raise it with Bonvoy customer service just like a guest would rather than have access to a system that enables them to correct it themselves. On the rare occasion that my stays have failed to post correctly, I have raised it once with the hotel directly and then follow up with Bonvoy customer service if it's still incorrect and it's always been fixed.
