For the first time I am missing the Welcome Gift bonus points when chose this as Welcome Gift. This is from Marriott Mena House in Cairo. 2 consecutive nights booked as 2 separate reservation (to preserve flexibility).
At check in the FD showed me a card on the Welcome Gift choices. I chose the 1000 points. It never posts despite I followed up twice since 2 weeks after checking out. In fact the nights did not post either and I only got one folio emailed to me but I did get printout of both when I insisted. I followed up with the non posting of nights and points a week after check out, Git a reply about tge info was passed to the “BonVoy Team”. The nights finally posted 3 days later but the 1000 bonus pts remains a no show, I followed up again. This time I was told tge case was escalated. Now more than 3 weeks afterward, the 1000 bonus points are still missing.
I guess the hotel just plays lip service but not actually does anything to correct the mistake. It is so annoying to have to chase the points that one is entitled. Woukd it helps to contact Marriott on this? After all, this is part of the elite benefits the program promises.
