Yes, you are completely misinterpreting how things work.

Come March 1, 2023 your LP count (along with everyone else's) will reset to zero. And start counting again with activity.

Your EXP status you've earned now will run until March 31, 2024. The Loyalty Points you earn between March 1, 2023 and Feb 29, 2024 will determine what status level you have after that.
