Hi All,
Back in May this year, I had booked a biz class rtn ABZ-MEL for early March 2023. ABZ-AMS-SIN-MEL rtn MEL-KUL-AMS-ABZ
Due to many delays and missed connections that were happening at the time of booking, for safety, I booked ABZ-AMS for the night before the AMS-SIN departure.
This came out as (I guess because I'm stopping more than 24h?) a multi-city booking so shows as 3 trips instead of 1 out + 1 back = 2.
OK, no big deal - but at the time I failed to notice that the AMS-MEL part is non-changeable and non-refundable, unlike all the other segments.
To be fair to myself, you had to click through the conditions to see that, and the KLM site was frequently not working properly.
Now I have to change the dates to 10 days later due to work and family events beyond my control.
I called KLM and they quoted me a massive EUR4300 to change to my new dates , or any days around then.
They suggested that I wait until New Year to see if KLM advised me of any changes or cancellations , and then I might be able to re-book without charge.
Last week KLM advised me that the departure of the KUL-AMS leg on the return from Oz has been changed by 15 minutes.
Is this my opening to request a date change on all legs?
Or do I have to wait for something more substantial?
