Yes, the Japanese crew are AY crew - IIRC the Japan flights are/were mixed Finnish/Japanese crew, but all AY.
I had bad service from HKG crew and very, very mediocre from SIN crew (how can that be? both CX and SQ have excellent crews!) The stories I hear from my Chinese speaking colleague on HEL-mainland routes about the Chinese crew are mind boggling. I won't repeat them here as I put them under "hearsay", but boy, oh boy.
