When an employee do the "Check Balance" thing, will they get the balance in the local currency or in the gift card's original currency?
Also, I see a lot of questions about fx rates. When I check the balance of my Canadian gift cards on Marriott's website, it gives them in USD for some reason, and the rate is pretty close to the spot rate. I think that like most gift cards (Costco and Starbucks come to mind), it comes down close to no-fx.
