Pretty disappointed they kept the old FC seats. The new ones have a lot more space, although the cupholders are somewhat restricting as far as what you can put in them. I'd disagree that this is a "medium" option. This is literally the cheapest they could get away with. 3 months of work for basically just new upholstery up front is not impressive, and if they plan on keeping the -800s flying for 5-10 more years, it's going to feel very outdated before long. The MAX cabins may not be the best either all things considered, but they are leaps and bounds better than the OG -800s without space bins. I hope this means the refurbished fleet will mostly be relegated to 2-4hr flights rather than Hawaii or transcons moving forward.
