Roku LXR
[Joe, most of your questions were answered already but I will follow up with my own observations. I would say our stay was good not great. The hard product is really good but the somewhat remote location and the spotty restaurant did detract from our stay. TenJin was mostly good with a few issues. When we arrived we wanted to have lunch but they said they were full which is ok but the hotel does not offer lunch room service so it meant us having to leave right away to eat. Certainly not a great start. Also my wife is a vegetarian but she will also eat fish and Tenjin had only one dish on the menu that did not have meat products . They did have four fish /seafood items on the menu but 3 of the 4 were cooked with pork etc . I know Japan is not great for vegetarians but It was still a little disappointing to have so little choice. I found the food at the restaurant good . We did not use the thermal pool but we did have a peek and it was not crowded. I am unsure if I would stay here again . Maybe for a points stay but certainly not for cash. It is just a little too far from town. We ended having to alter our plans and stay another day in Kyoto and we ended up staying in town at a highly rated boutique hotel called BNA Alter Museum .It was around 25% of the cost of the Roku and was fantastic. We picked it strictly on the basis of TripAdvisor ratings .
QUOTE=Nagasaki Joe;34771385]Great photos, such a wonderful time of year to be staying there. I hope you'll also tell us about your stay and the service. I understand that the Tea House no longer provides a pre-dinner happy hour of free-flowing champagne. Can you confirm that? Did you use the outdoor thermal pool and was it crowded?[/QUOTE]
