Mrs. Cholula called from work today and I mentioned I had just scored 10K SkyMiles for her account. She asked how and I tried to explain the "game" I had to play to earn them and the more I explained it, the dumber it sounded. She said..."That makes absolutely no sense at all. It sounds as easy as picking up 10K miles lying in the street. What's the catch?? "
And I can't disagree. This promotion makes absolutely no sense at the 10K mile level. As the previous posters stated, this might make sense for 1,000 miles.
The only thing I can think of is that DL's partners...Avis, Hertz, Marriott Vacation Club, Lending Tree.com, etc,..are footing most of the bill on this and are willing to pony up the miles in hope of scoring a few new customers.
