GHA has an interesting range of hotels, the problem lies squarely with elite benefits in my humble opinion.
Usually GHA hotels are pretty solid in giving upgrade benefit for me (just a Platinum 1 category upgrades btw)

However my recent stay at Palazzo Versace Dubai and Siam Kempinski Bangkok was not.
No upgrade at all claiming the hotel was full even though a quick search in GHA website show that the hotels still have entire line up of rooms/suites available for that day.
