Me neither. And having recently (almost like a pendulum) switched my loyalty (back) to Hyatt, I rarely use the card at all. However, once a year, usually in early January, I book a property that does qualify for the resort credit and also requires a 1 night (invariably more than $250) immediate refundable deposit which triggers the credit. Sometimes I end up cancelling that reservation in which case the hotel credits the deposit and (thus far) the resort credits (of the past few years) have not (yet) been clawed back.

Not my area of expertise (and I haven’t stayed at a Holiday Inn Express* for ages

) but it might be possible to get more frequent bonuses when upgrading/downgrading than the once per lifetime (7 years) typical of many AmEx cards. “Once per lifetime” is well documented for many AmEx cards/applications, not so for upgrades/downgrades and accompanying bonuses.
