Thanks, interesting that a passcode is required for over 2k points use on property. Probably the staff at the Novotel BKK Airport in the lounge wasn't so familiar with the process.

I also figured out that for using points upfront when making a booking, I can't use our SC Corp account (stored on my profile, can toggle the use of it on and off) and need to book a regular member type rate. Managed to redeem 4k points for a planned stay next year at an Ibis in Europe for a short overnight on a road trip.
