When the A3 ticket ends with a non-A3/non-OA flight — even if it’s all A3 coded flights — it’s really time to hope for a complimentary upgrade. Why? Because the A3*G/A3*S upgrade coupons don’t seem to fly for upgrading A3 flights unless there are only A3/OA-operated flights remaining to be flown on the booking with flights that a customer may want to have upgraded with the coupons. The complimentary (non-coupon) upgrades which I’ve had with A3 have been on A3/OA-only itineraries, but maybe others get luckier on mixed carrier itineraries with A3/OA flights.
