Flew LHR-OTP and was impressed. It was my first time on a longeer CE flight having previously flown DUB - LHR in CE connecting onto CW.
There were 6 rows of CE and we had 2 friendly and seemingly efficient cabin crew. Were initially given breakfast menus on tghis 6.05pm departure but these were quickly replaced. Pre dinner drinks were served and then the main meal - roasted cauliflower was a decent starter. I went for the beef salad as the main as had eaten previously in more than one of the T3 lounges so couldn't face the chicken and musfroom pie despite being tempted. Chocolate moose and cheese to finish both went down well. Accepted a 3rd drink after dinner and that was my limit. Againm, had taken advnatage of the T3 lounges earlier! Further drink and the snack basket were offered later so there was no issue with the bar closing on this OTP flight.
The service was great. I was adressed by name despite only being a lowly Bronze and I heard the passenger behind being congratulated on reaching Bronze level - is this normal for us plebs?
Comparison point is with a recent IB fligfht from LHR to Madrid. Found the BA meal better but especially the service. On IB just got the one drink with dinner and nothing else offered and didn;t ask for anything. BA ctrew werer friendlier and more interactive too.
I thought I read here that hot towels were back - am not sure if this is the case but if so they weren't offered on this flight.
Very enjoyable experience overall
