For maybe like one flight. I fly to Mexico a lot from MCO... my last return flight from CUN had airfare of around $1 with almost $200 in "taxes and fees." I kind of suspect that the pass would not reduce the final price by much at all. That would also pretty quickly burn through the Amex credit, potentially blowing the whole thing on just one flight. That's assuming it would cover it... the hack with WN only works on airfare of <$100, so I'm not sure if the credit would cover all the taxes/fees paid at booking if the cost is more than that.

I'm just speculating here, but I think Frontier didn't sell as many GOWILD! passes as they were hoping. So they added International travel as a carrot, and extended the $599 introductory price by a day for people who will now change their minds and go for this.
I spent a lot of my career working in marketing, and that was my first thought when I saw that update. I would bet money they had really low signups and are trying to sweeten the deal a little to sell more.
