Just because they have suites available doesn't mean they have to give you one for your upgrade. Diamond benefit says up to a suite. A room with a better view even if same type of room you reserved is considered an upgrade. So unless you reserved a room 1 level below a suite and a suite is available you are not "entitled" to a suite.
