I may have posted a while ago, but I too was victim of GA UG shenanigans on HNL-SJC. Cheers..
.
- UG'd well before T-24, Seats 1A/C
- Arrive to gate well before boarding, just eating musubi and observing the planes with mrs. anteater
- A few minutes prior to boarding, we observe two new pax arrive and head to the gate desk. They are clearly acquaintances with the GA. They are handed two BPs. OK, should be nothing of note, right?
- Pre-boarding is called.
- Boarding is called and we are the first to be scanned. The scanner immediately registers an error and the GA queries the desk to ask where anteater party is seated. I hear rapid typing over the radio and a "uh.. 4A and XX (some main cabin seat)".
- They wouldn't explain why we were bumped mrs. anteater wouldn't take 4A, so I did.
- While in 4A, I observed those two new pax take their seats in.. 1A/1C.
- It turns out they were non-revs (not DHing). They did not appear on the Awaiting Seats or UG lists. However, the three empty FC seats that were filled by the GA were for AS non-revs and on the Awaiting Seats list. All five of these people were friends.
- During the flight, I observed the pax in 1A/C frequently reach up for their bags from the bin and access bags and bottles with pills. OK, could be a good reason.
- We land at SJC. As the FC cabin disembarks, I idle next to the gate desk waiting for mrs. anteater and.. the pax from 1/AC position themselves behind the gate desk and begin opening their bags to swap items.
- I loudly hear one of the two say "Here you go, you owe me" as he hands a gallon sized zip lock bag of pharmaceuticals to the other pax. They also begin discussing their in-flight drug usage.
I reported this to AS the next day and I specifically noted the arrival gate. I sure hope they pulled the security footage. 🤙🍹
