Can you advise on if it's recommended to use Marriott points to achieve Silver status on Delta in my circumstance?

For context, I am already Skyteam Elite through mileage accrued of an international partner carrier. I mainly used a non-Delta domestic carrier to achieve status this year but did also fly Delta and am a few thousand miles under to achieve Silver. I also have a lot of Marriott Bonvoy points that I don't anticipate using soon.

A colleague keeps telling me to use those points for Delta silver medallion status as next year I am planning to do much more domestic travel which will also increase my likelihood of flying Delta but is it worth attaining only Silver status for someone who is Skyteam Elite? Are there any extra benefits for Silver status on Delta outside of Skyteam Elite?

I am also aware of the 3:1 point transfer ratio from Marriott to Delta.
