I can't agree with the Skift characterization of the brands, it skews too upmarket for most all brands.


Radisson Collection is the only luxury part of the portfolio.

It's the same idea as Curio or Tapestry by Hilton, Vignette by IHG or Luxury collection of Marriott - 5* properties which maintain their own identity rather than being closer to a brand standard.
There's not many of them and not all seem to be true luxury properties.

Skift places Blu in the same Luxury/Upper Upscale category, which does not ring true.

Blu hotels are solid 4 stars, but not real 5 stars, even though I have to admit some swing above their category. All in all I enjoy the brand very much. Dependable hotels.

Red hotels I have not had the pleasure to try. There's only 17 of those and that's including those that are opening soon. Seems to be positioned somewhat lower than Blu, and here, I can largely agree with the Skift suggestion that it's Moxy but less annoying. Closer to Aloft. Maybe voco by IHG, but a bit more in your face.
