I will just say that this has certainly not been my experience, and a UK border agent shouting at me remains in my memory as the most unfriendly, rudest and scariest border entry encounter I've ever had in any country. All because I bypassed the eGates, knowing they never work for me,
And on all my visits to the US, I've found them to be exceptionally friendly and welcoming.. Surprisingly because I've always expected the opposite.
