That’s not the EC261 option, that’s the LO offer. OP’s rights have been infringed.

LO’s rebooking has been in violation of EC261 for a very long time. For example, route dropped and told to shove off, refund only. New tickets many times the cost with other airlines. Legal? Of course not.
