I ran into a new problem today booking AY awards. I'm changing dates due to our availability to travel. Evidently AY allows open JAW on just one end, not both. Over the weekend I was attempting to change an award on AY from outbound SEA-HEL-ARN and return CPH-HEL-SEA to outbound DFW-HEL-ARN and return CPH-HEL-SEA. The change from SEA to DFW is due to award availability. The reason I was given by the AS agent was that AY treats this as a r/t award and they allow an open jaw on only one end of the trip. So I could pick the domestic or foreign JAW, but not both. The agent took quite some time seeking out the reason the change was failing, so I don't think they were coming up with new rules out of thin air.

Does anybody have any knowledge of this rule? Should I just call again?
