E175 Lack Advanced Aeronautics

I learned something concerning Sunday (11/13) when my flight from EUG to SEA (5:00 AM) was cancelled because the plane could not get in the night before due to fog. This meant I was going to miss my flight to DCA for a training as well. Because of full planes, the earliest they could get me out was Tuesday which basically killed my trip. When asking the check-in folks at EUG about it they indicated that the E175 did not have the advanced aeronautics like the Q400s and basically said, "I am not sure why everyone is so excited about the jets...winter weather cancelations are unfortunately back."

I do like the E175 over the Q400 as they have FC and the seats are wider. However, I would take the Q400 any day if it means that I get to my destination.

Any Alaska pilots or staff out there that can say when (or if) the E175s will have the same capabilities as the rest of their fleet? Hopefully soon or for those of us at destinations that tend to get fog in the winter, we have reverted 10-15 years. Thanks!!
