Will AA through check my bags or do I have to collect and recheck in CLT? I’m EXP if that matters.

If the tickets need to be in the same PNR, can AA merge the two tickets?

Thanks!

For future reference, the OP could always purchase two separate award tickets in the same PNR on the phone with AA but it might be a HUACA case where a knowledgable agent must know how to do "Segment Select" and price both awards separately on Sabre. In that case the OP would be able to through check baggage.
