Look, I flew on an A350 to Austin last week in Club and put a hold bag into hold. I boarded, only to find 75% of people had taken either multiple cabin bags or a small hold bag. When we landed, there can't have been more than about 30 people waiting to collect hold bags and similar when we returned to Heathrow.
Frankly put, despite the other thread, too many people, especially in economy, realise those overhead lockers are huge and bring either two cabin or a small hold bag instead of putting in the hold.
Obviously whether this is 'right or wrong' is a debate we're having right now, but sadly this board only reaches a small number of fliers and most of them will continue, especially when BA seems to have an open door policy on allowing huge cabin bags onto the plane, even for economy.
In hindsight, I could have just brought two larger cabin bags into the cabin rather than put a bag in hold and wait almost an hour for it to be delivered each end.
