Ok, so we went through on Sunday and we were very impressed - a good choice of quality hot and cold food (although it could have been replenished a little more often), soup (yum!), decent wine, Prosecco and the standard scotch, vodka and gin offerings, plus cognac (see that BA, cognac!) and all self-serve. The lounge space is large with lots of comfortable seating plus separate tables if preferred and there appears to be a large overflow lounge with more comfortable seating behind the manned desk at the entrance although we were directed to the main lounge like everyone else. Charging points are everywhere. The toilets were spotless (with showers!) and the staff were friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our short time there and it’s just as well that we ate in the lounge as the choice on the return BA flight wasn’t great. A prawn cocktail (which I can’t eat) or a sweet potato “thing” which really wasn’t very nice at all. Both were cold as one would expect on such a short flight and to be fair, it was impressive to get a choice at all. The outbound food was lovely (a cold but delicious roast beef dish in horseradish) and the crew were superb on both sectors as always with impressive and very slick service in the limited time available (6 rows of CE outbound and 4 return). I guess we were just unlucky that the food on the return wasn’t to my taste. I have uploaded a few pics that I took in the lounge - they’re not great and if the lids were left on, it means the dishes were empty. I hope this is helpful to others and massive thanks to everyone who replied to my request for advice.
