Are people putting their Air Tags in outside pockets in checked luggage or do they work even if inside the luggage along with other contents? We're thinking of getting some for an upcoming trip and were wondering about the likelihood of them "going missing" in the former scenario.
You should be able to put them anywhere in the luggage that won't act as a faraday cage which for most luggage is just about anywhere. My plan is to put them in the toiletries bag (if the luggage has one) and possibly attached to a shirt (barring theft or confiscation, should not go missing). If you put it in an outside pocket, it's more likely to get "discovered" and tossed (if the luggage is stolen).
