Well it depends on what you mean by best…….many years ago, probably about 2000….approaching LHR from Singapore in a 747-400. Down to about 1000 feet. Standard gear down noises followed by a very high power go around. Back to about 5000 feet captain comes on pa to apologise and explain that he did not get greens for all the gear being down. One of the body gears was not showing as down…” I have landed one of these more than 1000 times and never had this issue. We will see if we can get the gear down but don’t worry, it is perfectly safe to land without that gear down. I do however want to continue my record of always having all the gear down when I land”.
