The other key thing when discussing Whole Foods - why would any tourist need to travel to go to Whole Foods? It’s a glorified grocery store. It makes sense to go when lodging nearby and it’s not necessary to go there as a destination. When we travel, we get groceries near our lodging or at a shop near a destination - eg Napili Market in Maui because we are already beaching by Napili / Kapalua.
in San Francisco by hyatt Embarcadero I would just food shop at the fun gorgeous Ferry Building. Zero need to trek elsewhere for food.
Well, to be completely (ok FT Hyperbole Completely) honest, if you don't want lunch and snacks at the Ferry Building to cost more than the hotel room, you might take a short trek to the much closer than Stonestown WF, or to the nearest TJ's.
