ICN Transit-2 Separate Tickets; NO VISA

I will buy two separate tickets: FRA or MUC to ICN; and ICN to NRT. One from Lufthansa (from Lifemiles) and other from Asiana (paid cash.) The transit time in ICN will be less than 24 hours and I will NOT be leaving the airport. Can I transit in ICN?

This question has been asked before on this forum, but the difference between me and others is, I DO NOT have a visa to enter Korea; all I can do is transit. (My country's passport needs a visa to enter Korea.)

I feel that the airline agent will reject me from boarding for that reason. Baggage shouldn't be a problem because both tickets are Star Alliance members...

Also, do passengers have to wear masks on their flight to Korea?

Thank you in advance.
