Intercontinental Phu Quoc Long BeachWhich room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked 1 king residence (apartment), received 1 king residence long beach view, which is basically the same with a view of the regent next door rather than the back. I don’t think anyone would pay the 50$ extra they sell it for.
How are the rooms?
The apartment was big. Room and bathroom were decent in size. The living room was large, definitely larger than the pictures on the booking page (where I guess they show the smallest variation).
It was modern and well equipped, with a surprisingly good sound system in the living room. Nice balcony too.
How is the exec. lounge?
Did not visit
What was good and what was bad?
Good
- this is a very family friendly resort, with a great kids pool with slides, and even a kids area in the main restaurant. Because the kids areas are aside from the rest, other guests aren’t disturbed. It’s a smart layout.
- Nice rooftop bar with DJ
Bad:
- Nothing much really. I don’t think anything was exceptional, but there was also nothing bad.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
I think the residence apartments are good value as they don’t cost much more than a room and I didn’t see any major downside. There was still daily housekeeping, and there doesn’t seem to be a minimal duration. They can’t be booked on points though.
Also I believe breakfast is included in all rates including on points, so a room redemption on points is quite good too even if not Diamond.
If going back to Phu Quoc, we would most likely return.
