How much time (and fuel) does flying over Russia save for LHR or European flights? just checking recent LHR flights which bypass Russia, flight time is roughly 12 hours eastbound and 14 hours westbound... I can't imagine the savings to be that much.. Overflight charges I imagine are more flying over Russia than some of the central asian countries too? I wonder net net if the savings would be significant?
