Vistara interline baggage allowances with Star Alliance carriers

Vistara has a policy that "Passengers travelling on Vistara, to and from international destinations with our interline/codeshare partners on a single document (that is, a single ticket mentions the origin point and the final destination including any transit points), will be offered the same baggage allowance end-to-end as mentioned on their International ticket, regardless of whether it is on weight or as per piece concept as long as all the connections are within 24 hours.'

What about a situation where the baggage allowance stated on the ticket is 2 pieces, but due to Star Gold status an additional piece of luggage is permitted by the international carrier? Does Vistara then charge for the 3rd piece or does it accept the 3rd piece for free as part of the interline partner baggage allowance. Would the same situation apply both inbound (ie. where the baggage is checked in abroad by the Star Alliance carrier up to the Indian gateway, customs cleared and then handed over to Vistara) and outbound (ie. where the baggage is checked in by Vistara for the first segment to then be transferred to the Star Alliance carrier at the gateway airport)?

My wife (*G) has a choice of using Air India or Vistara for her domestic connection to/from a Star Alliance carrier longhaul international flight. The Vistara flight has better timings, but if luggage will be an issue she can wait the extra 90 minutes and take the Air India flight instead where the extra luggage is guaranteed. The ticket would be issued as a single document by the Star Alliance carrier in either case.
