After reading this thread, I purchased an economy plus fare from LHR TO MUC for Nov 11, last flight of the day at 19:55. Am currently about to board BA 48 from SEA-LHR then on to MUC. EF shows multiple seats open on earlier flights to MUC, which are my preference, but they were pricier.

I called BA at 12:15 am Nov 11 (London time) to ask to SDC my flight to an earlier one and was told that all fare differences would apply, plus taxes and fees. Do I just need to wait until I’m at LHR to try to change to an earlier flight for free?
